Waiting at KLI

It’s about 10:30pm & I’m waiting in Kuala Lumpur International Airport for my 12:30am (6 hour) redeye to Beijing. To my amazement, they actually offer FREE WiFi in the terminals (!).

Anyways, will be back loading some photos & stories from the last few days in Malaysia soon. But just want to report that I am VERY sore from my climb to the 4095m summit of Mt. Kinabalu….which was absolutely breathtaking.

  1. I was surprised that the Las Vegas airport had free WiFi too… pretty sweet. Apparently it’s common in smaller US Airports (Manchester, NH but not Boston, MA, Colorado Springs but not Denver, etc).

  2. Food would be fabulous here in Malaysia. But after 26 years eating the same thing, you kind of get bored with it. ๐Ÿ˜€

Can’t wait to see the pics of Mt. Kinabalu. as I’ve never been there before. I doubt I can make it to the top. LOL!

  3. please tell me you got to eat some hawker food. especially if you went to penang. yum, there’s an amazing barley drink (cool and refreshing), hokkien mee (spicy and flavorful), indian breakfast sweets and a shrimp paste they use in rice and in veggies (malay word (phonetic)-balazhan). ah…i’m salavating

  4. My quads are still sore. ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, we were able to have some good Malaysia food. Although, since we were at the conference most of the time in KL, I didn’t get to have any hawker food. ๐Ÿ™ I did have some some excellent local lamb curry though in Kota Kinabalu. (No idea what actual name of dish was.)

In China so far, I’ve definitely gotten to have some good street food in the hutongs. I’ve tried Jiรก jฤซ dร n and chuan and those steamed pork buns. Definitely interested in recommendations if you have them!
