Laundry Tags: What the #($)U@$ Does That Mean?

3 Oct

I finally got curious.  A web search later, TIDE comes to the rescue with a “The Language of Laundry.”

To wet your appetite, here are the “Machine Wash” and “Water Temperature” symbols.  (Who knew those dots meant something??)

It gets worse… apparently the laundry language gets localized too, since the symbols are not the same (I think) on this side of the Atlantic… Not even mentioning that if I want to use 140 degrees water, I’ll need compressed steam (oh wait, that’s Farenheit, right? ;-)
